Everyone in the meeting knows. On every plan.
If an AI agent is taking meeting notes, the room has to be able to see it. Dot is in the participant list from the moment it joins to the moment the call ends.
Four ways the room is told
Dot appears in the participant list under a name that says what it is. It posts a message in the meeting chat when it arrives, saying it is transcribing. Its video tile carries the same line for the whole call, so somebody who joins forty minutes late sees it as clearly as somebody who was there at the start.
After the meeting, every attendee can be told what was captured. You can reword the name, the chat line and the tile label. You cannot switch them off, on the free trial or on a paid plan.
Why a visible bot rather than a hidden listener
A meeting bot everybody can see is how notice stays unmissable. Desktop software that listens to a laptop can take meeting notes without a name in the list. That is the arrangement we refused, because the room cannot object to a thing it cannot see.
Anybody can ask Dot to leave. That is a real control, not a settings page for an administrator who is not in the call.
Questions
Can an administrator turn the notice off for the company?
No. Not a plan, not an administrator, not us. The wording can be changed. The fact of the notice cannot. That is what makes a visible meeting bot a trust story rather than a toggle.
What does an external guest see?
The same participant, the same chat line, the same label on the tile. They do not need a Dot account. They can still ask it to leave.
